Rucha Bhagwat- I still have a stomach of fluttering butterflies if he looks at me

“I remember the first time I saw KJ, I thought he’s such a cute and confident senior but I’d never pursue him. But our mutual friends tried to set us up and that didn’t work out.

Soon, he graduated from school. We went to the same sports club and met each other everyday. We started to connect and grew closer during the summer of 2011. We probably always knew it more than just a friendship.

On 5th of July 2011, we kissed each other for the first time. My eyes were filled with spark and love. I hugged him as tightly as I could.

Through the years we were mostly tight and solid. We went on countless dates, on hikes, cycling rides together and climbed Sinhagad a 1000 times just to eat the pakoras and did so many crazy things together.

Soon, KJ got selected to join the Indian Air Force. Until now we had just sailed through the years. Now, I used to see his face only after 3 long months. I used to cry my eyes out and wait for his 2 minute calls from the academy.

We were in a long distance relationship for 3 long years. There were times I wanted to give up but he always had a strong, unwavering faith in our bond and he knew we had a future together.

In the summer of 2020, he was stuck at home during the lockdown and we decided not to spend a minute apart, thanks to both our families we could stay together throughout. We were happily staying together but then, he got posted to New Delhi. My heart broke.

But my man didn’t let my faith on ‘us’ shake a bit. On my 24th birthday, he talked to our parents and put a ring on my finger.

Oh, and I still have a stomach of fluttering butterflies if he looks at me.” said Rucha Bhagwat
