‘I was born in Kolkata to a very loving & culturally diverse family, my mom a Punjabi Hindu and my dad a Kashmiri Sikh. At a young age my family moved to Indonesia and the first language I spoke was Bahasa. I imbibed the travel bug from my parents at a very young age I travelled with my family every year within the country and abroad, exploring, eating, and having fun.
I pursued Economics Hons. from Delhi University and post graduation in Marketing, followed by an advance course at Oxford University. All this while I was pursuing theatre and acting on the side. Infact, I stared acting at the age of 5 when my mom put me in a theatre production at India Habitat Centre, and haven’t stopped since then. In school, I was the president of the theatre society and in the college as well. Slowly, casting directors started noticing me and asked me to audition for various roles. Somehow, I started bagging movies and web series and eventually, I moved to Mumbai to pursue acting for good.
I respect the stage with all my heart and feel powerful and responsible when on it. But I’m also pursuing a corporate career at Zomato whilst attempting to act on the side. I would always advise not move to Bombay without work. Mumbai is a fascinating illuision where dreamers get lost and achievers make it big. But always grab something in the hand before you leave everything for Maya nagri.’ said Sahiba Bali @ Delhi, India
