‘My interest in photography evolved in 2018, when I was preparing for 12th Board examinations during my second attempt. I remember spending most of the time discovering my city and clicking pictures with my mobile phone camera. I used to bunk my tuition classes to document various festivals attend photowalks and participate in photography competitions.
But, my parents believed that subjects such as math, science or politics make careers that were sensible, stable and can allow me to make a proper living. Photography for them always seemed to mark as a hobby or a passion and not so much a true professional endeavor. My parents thought that this career would take me nowhere.
I earned my parents’ confidence and belief in me and my photography when my work was published in National Geographic Travel India, National Geographic Your Shot and I received the official National Geographic jacket. I won several photography competitions and took part in more than 10 Photography Exhibitions in a span of 2 years. I would’ve failed if I wouldn’t have chosen to start clicking pictures.
Today, my father would accompanies me while clicking pictures and this is something that I never expected would happen. My family is very supportive of my work and I hope I will be able to make my family and friends proud of me in the coming years.’ said Deepro Biswas
